Will Making Your Bed Help You Sleep Better?

Making Your Bed

Many of us think that making our beds is just a boring chore. Yes, it might make our bedrooms look tidier, but in the end, many of us don’t think that it really makes a difference in how we sleep at the end of the day. So a lot of us don’t bother with making our bed.

However, the National Sleep Foundation conducted a survey that might make you consider changing your mind about this mundane task.

In their survey, the National Sleep Foundation asked people if they made their beds and found that people who made their bed every day, or almost every day, are more likely to report that they get a good night’s sleep every day. More specifically, people who make their beds every day (or close to it) reported that they get a good night’s sleep every day or almost every day, which was 19% more frequently than those who make their bed less often.

While there is no guarantee that making it your bed every day will give you a better night’s sleep, it might.

So make your bed for the next couple of weeks and see how it goes. Maybe our parents and grandparents knew what they were talking about after all when they were telling us to make our beds. Even if you don’t end up sleeping better at least you will have a tidier-looking bedroom and that will make your parents and grandparents happy too!
